Um quarteto vanguardista, estilisticamente apátrida, por vezes hipnótico. tellKujira nasceu em 2020 como um quarteto de câmara “imperfeito”, com duas guitarras elétricas em vez de violinos. A sua música move-se entre a contemporânea, a eletrónica, o art rock e o free jazz, recorrendo a uma metodologia de escrita coletiva que deriva diretamente das suas sessões de improvisação.

O segundo álbum dos tellKujira, La Lucha Es Un Poema Colectivo, será lançado em Outubro de 2025 pela SuperPang Records. O processo de criação deste álbum foi fortemente influenciado por uma residência artística em Paris, no final de 2023, durante a qual o grupo se viu rodeado por protestos e greves de trabalhadores no Centro Georges Pompidou. A tensão entre o ato de criar e as lutas sociais que aconteciam à sua volta marcou profundamente a banda, que absorveu essa atmosfera de resistência coletiva como motor criativo para este trabalho.

An avant-garde quartet, stylistically stateless, at times hypnotic. tellKujira was born in 2020 as an “imperfect” chamber quartet, with two electric guitars instead of violins. Its music moves between contemporanea, electronics, art rock and free jazz, making use of a collective writing methodology that is a direct derivation of their improvisation sessions.

The second album by tellKujira, La Lucha Es Un Poema Colectivo, will be released in October 2025 by SuperPang Records. The creative process behind this album was strongly influenced by an artistic residency in Paris in late 2023, during which the group found themselves surrounded by protests and workers’ strikes at the Centre Georges Pompidou. The tension between making art and the social struggles unfolding around them left a deep impression on the band, who embraced that atmosphere of collective resistance as a driving force for the work.
