Através de uma parceria com a Cinemateca Portuguesa, vários filmes amadores inéditos, captados durante e após a Revolução de 25 de abril de 1974, são musicados ao vivo pelo Space Ensemble. Este filme-concerto é uma oportunidade única para ver estes filmes raríssimos, que revelam imagens inéditas do 25 de Abril ou do 1º de Maio de 1974 em vários pontos do país, e de outros eventos que se sucederam durante o PREC, recolhidos no âmbito da campanha Filmou o 25 de abril?, promovida pela Cinemateca Portuguesa e pela Comissão Comemorativa 50 anos 25 abril, com o objetivo de salvaguardar e difundir esse património cinematográfico. O Space Ensemble surge no panorama nacional como uma formação musical mutante, com origem nas primeiras edições do Space Festival, que se diferencia pela forma como cruza a sua linguagem inspirada em vários géneros musicais, sobretudo o jazz e a música improvisada, com uma abordagem artística multidisciplinar. Fazem parte do Space Ensemble músicos com percursos artísticos muito diversos - desde carreiras ligadas tanto à música clássica como a linguagens mais experimentais, todos contribuem para a estética e sonoridade dos projetos em circulação.

Through a partnership with the Cinemateca Portuguesa, several previously unseen amateur films — shot during and after the 25 April 1974 Revolution — are accompanied live by Space Ensemble. This film-concert offers a rare opportunity to view these exceptional archival materials, which reveal never-before-seen footage of the 25 April and 1 May 1974 events across different parts of the country, as well as other key moments from the PREC (Ongoing Revolutionary Process). The footage was collected as part of the campaign Did You Film the 25th of April?, promoted by the Portuguese Cinematheque and the 50th Anniversary Commission of the 25th of April, with the aim of preserving and disseminating this important cinematic heritage. Space Ensemble emerged on the Portuguese music scene as a shape-shifting musical formation, born from the early editions of the Space Festival. It stands out for the way it blends a musical language rooted in various genres — particularly jazz and improvised music — with a multidisciplinary artistic approach. The ensemble includes musicians from a wide range of artistic backgrounds, from classical music to more experimental languages, all contributing to the unique aesthetic and sonic identity of its ongoing projects.
