Luís Vicente é um trompetista português muito ativo e radicado em Lisboa, que toca em vários grupos com diferentes conceitos - desde música totalmente livre a música composta - tendo sempre presente o sentido de liberdade, que nunca consegue deixar de lado. Já tocou em dezenas de salas de espetáculos e festivais por toda a Europa e América do Norte. Tocou e gravou com Carlos Zingaro, Wilbert De Joode, Akira Sakata, Johannes Bauer, William Parker, Hamid Drake, Michael Moore, Roger Turner, entre muitos outros. Vicente parece nunca parar: depois do sucesso das suas parcerias com John Dikeman, William Parker e Hamid Drake em "Goes Without Saying, But It’s Got to Be Said", vira-se para a prata nacional (aqui representada por Gonçalo Almeida e Pedro Melo Alves, ambos protagonistas de projetos autorais) e assina um álbum que inspira Drake, o já referido mestre baterista, a escrever (nas notas de rodapé) que o trabalho de Vicente é uma lição sobre "continuar a olhar, a procurar novas possibilidades, a alargar a visão" e parte do "código subjacente de todo o universo", como disse o místico sufi Hazrat Iayat Khan. Mais uma vez aplicando o seu nunca apologético "sentido de liberdade", Vicente está de volta com um álbum poderoso que é um prazer de ouvir.

Luís Vicente is a Portuguese trumpet player based in Lisbon. He’s a very active musician, playing in several groups with different concepts – from totally free to composed music – having always present the sense of freedom, which he can never leave aside. He already played in dozens of venues, festivals across Europe and in North America. He performed and recorded with Carlos Zingaro, Wilbert De Joode, Akira Sakata, Johannes Bauer, William Parker, Hamid Drake, Michael Moore, Roger Turner, and many others. Vicente never seems to stop: after the success of his partnership with John Dikeman, William Parker and Hamid Drake in “Goes Without Saying, But It’s Got to Be Said”, he turns to national silver (represented here by Gonçalo Almeida and Pedro Melo Alves, both protagonists of their own projects) and signs an album that inspires Drake, the above mentioned master drummer, to write (in the liner notes) that Vicente’s work is a lesson about «keep looking, searching for new possibilities, broadening ones views» and part of «the underlying code of the whole universe», as Sufi mystic Hazrat Iayat Khan put it. Once again applying his never apologetic «sense of freedom», Vicente is back with a powerful album that is a joy to listen to.
