Francisco Cipriano é mestre pela Universidade de Artes de Bern. Dedica-se à música vanguardista do Século XX/XXI através de ensembles e orquestras, à música improvisada e ao SoundArt. Tocou em vários festivais em Portugal, Luxemburgo, Alemanha, Itália, Inglaterra e Suíça. Em 2023 co-fundou o duo Nada Contra gravando o seu primeiro álbum When you hear hoofbeats, think Horses, not Zebras. Em 2024 co-fundou a Cigarra, uma associação que se dedica à promoção de música contemporânea e experimental em Lisboa. Desde 2024 é diretor artístico do Festival de Percussão da Beira Interior.
Francisco Cipriano holds a Master’s degree from the Bern University of Arts. He dedicates his work to the avant-guard music of the 20th and 21st century through ensembles and orchestras, improvised music and SoundArt. He has played various festivals throughout Europe (Portugal, Luxemburgo, Germany, Italy, England and Switzerland). In 2023, he co-founded with Mrika Sefa the duo Nada Contra, having released their first album, When you hear hoofbeats, think Horses, not Zebras, in February 2025. In 2024 he alo co-founded Cigarra, an association dedicated to promoting contemporary and experimental music in Lisbon. Since 2024, Cipriano is also the artistic director of Festival de Percurssão da Beira Interior.
