Romke Kleefstra é um músico e compositor neerlandês ativo desde os anos 1990 na área da música experimental, com trabalhos que atravessam o ambiental, drone, eletrónica e improvisação. Iniciou o seu percurso em bandas como Shatterhole, Seascape Painters e Polaroyd, evoluindo mais tarde para uma prática artística fortemente colaborativa e interdisciplinar. Integra projetos como Piiptsjilling (com Jan Kleefstra, Rutger Zuydervelt/Machinefabriek e Mariska Baars), The Alvaret Ensemble, Transtilla e Kleefstra Bros, entre outros. O seu trabalho cruza música, poesia, paisagem e silêncio, desenvolvendo-se em discos, performances e projetos de longa duração ligados a território e escuta. A par com a sua atividade artística, Romke é ornitólogo.

He began his career in bands such as Shatterhole, Seascape Painters, and Polaroyd, later evolving toward a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary artistic practice.
